In the movie there is a central argument linked around the question “Who created God?” I get this question more than any other when I talk about the Creator God. The answer is God is not a Creation. He is eternal. He does not need a Creator because He does not have a beginning. Think about the word Eternal for just a moment. Eternal, Forever, Always, No beginning, and No end. Eternal.
Where there is a Creation it stands to reason that there must be a Creator. Where there are Laws (science is useless without laws) there is a Law Giver. God the creator of the physical material world is also the creator of the very laws of nature that hold the material together. As creator of these laws He is not bound or subject to those laws. He is the creator of Time therefore He has not subjected Himself to the constraints of time.
Our life on this earth is temporary. I know that this is a hard concept to understand for the young and ambitious who have not grappled with the reality of mortality, but our finite physical self is just that… temporary. God however made us in His image. That means some part of us is also eternal. Our souls should be with Him in the eternal, timelessness of His presence.
We stopped to dwell on the word Eternal just a moment ago. Now you have a decision to make. Are you going seek Eternal things or are you going to pursue temporary material things? What life would you have? The word “Eternal” it is a foundation of this Church…
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” | John 3:36 ESV
In the movie many of these lives are faced with their mortality. Sooner or later everyone comes to the conclusion of the temporary nature of reality. God has given common grace to live life, use that grace as the opportunity to seek Him and accept Him as Creator and Savior. You must turn away from the rebellious life you seek to live. Now is that time. Do not put it off thinking you have time to decide later on. If Jesus is standing at the door asking for you, do not delay. Eternity is at stake.
If you want the eternal that only Jesus can provide. If you have any questions please reach out to me. Jesus may have died for you, but He was raised alive from the grave on the third day for you also. Jesus is alive, he is God in the flesh, waiting for you to respond. God is not dead.
